The Rolex Yacht-Master was launched by Rolex in 1992 as the more luxurious variant of the Submariner. The first Yacht-Master, reference 16628, was completely in 18k yellow gold. In 1994, the 35 mm ref. 69628 of the Yacht-Master was introduced, especially for the Asian market, or for men with a smaller wrist. In 1999, the all-steel version of the 40 mm Yacht-Master came onto the market, with a platinum dial and rotatable bezel.
