History

The Rolex ref 16710 was introduced in 1989 as the follower of the first GMT- Master II ref 16760 (the so-called “Fat Lady”). Esthetically, the 16710 is the same watch as the 16700 and both GMT’s were also simultaneously produced. However, there is one big difference: the updated movement which was fitted with the independently- adjustable 24h hand. The ref 16710 came also with the new bezel colour combination: black and red, the so called ‘Coke’ bezel.
