The Buckley dial, named after the renowned vintage watch dealer John Buckley in New York, is mainly seen on vintage DateJust- models from the seventies and eighties. Normally, Rolex dials had applied numbers or indexes. The Buckley dial is an exception and has printed Roman numerals. When this type of dial was first introduced, it wasn’t really popular. It was John Buckley who collected and popularized them.
