Introduction

Cartier Tank Américaine was introduced in 1989. The original Tank Américaine was a big model and very popular at the time, just as the Pasha which was introduced in 1985. The curved case of Tank Américaine was derived from Tank Cintrée, but more rectangular and waterproof. The first models were fitted with a Quartz movement. In 1991, Cartier introduced Cartier the Cartier Tank Américaine Automatic.

18K white gold rectangular case (26.5x45mm). White dial with black Roman index hour markers. Blued steel sword-shaped hands. Automatic movement with date & central seconds.
